Frequently Asked Questions

Will it hurt?

Acupuncture treatments should not typically be painful. While you may feel the needles somewhat, the gauge of the needles is very fine. Some treatments may require some stimulation of the needles to get your body working, but these are not painful. Special care is taken during the placement, resting period and removal to ensure you are comfortable at all times.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

It is best to make sure that you have had something to eat prior to treatment. Other than that, just bring, or wear loose-fitting pants, or shorts, a short-sleeve shirt or tank top.

Will I need multiple sessions to complete treatment?

Everyone responds differently to treatment. After the initial session, how you respond will give us a clearer picture of treatment duration. Typically, an issue that is chronic will take a bit longer to fully resolve than an acute issue.

Can I request specific modalitites, like cupping?

I love it when patients come into the studio knowledgeably informed on the various modalities of an acupuncture practice. However, I will need to fully assess your concerns, as well as your overall intake & exam, before I can advise on other modalities.

What COVID safety measures are in place?

Your safety and wellness are of my utmost concern. My practice is following the COVID-19 safety guidelines put forth by the CDC & the State of New York. Please follow the link below for a full list of protocols.
